Our Tuesday April 21st Hometown Hero is Ashley Marshall of Georgetown. Ashley is a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at Baptist Health in Lexington. She has been there for 13 years. Ashley was nominated by her husband, Matthew, who says, “Ashley is my wife but I’m not nominating her because of that. Ashley is a RN in the ER at Baptist Health. She works night shift 7p-7a and has been on the frontline of fighting Covid-19. Ashley has always put her patients before herself…missing breaks, lunch, and even getting to go to the restroom at times because of how sick people are and how much she needs and wants to care for them. She makes sure to watch our Governor every day for updates and makes sure to tell me to turn the green porch lights on while she’s at work for our fellow Kentuckians that have lost their lives. She hasn’t lost her faith during this battle and stays strong for our family and our daughter no matter how tired she is when she gets home. She still helps with dinner, still cleans the house and laundry, and now is a NTI homeschool teacher while trying to sleep during the day as well. Ashley was already my hero long before Covid because all of the lives she had touched but now maybe she can be yours as well.”
