COVID-19 Update: 196 New COVID-19 Cases in State, Total @ 3,373

Governor Andy Beshear said today at his daily press conference about the Coronavirus that there were 196 newly reported cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth, bringing the total to 3,373, Of those, there were 4 new cases in Fayette County, 2 new cases in Madison, and one new case in each Clarke. Harrison and Woodford Counties.
There have been 36,075 tests for Coronavirus in the state. Of those 1,105 Kentuckians have ever been in the Hospital, there are now 301 Kentuckians in the Hosptial for Coronavirus. There have been 564 Kentuckians ever in the ICU with Coronavirus, there are 161 now in ICU with Coronavirus. 1,3111 have recovered from the Coronavirus.
The Governor said they are close to an agreement to reopen Hospitals and Health Care Facilities on Monday. Phase 1 will start. Details are forthcoming.
The Kroger partnership with the State for testing is continuing with sites in Madisonville, Paducah, Somerset, and Pikeville testing through Thursday. Today they tested 571 people at those locations.
New Testing sites will open on Monday in Louisville and Lexington. The Lexington site will be at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, 500 Newtown Pike from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Both sites will also distribute Masks and Hand Sanitizer. These tests will be open to anyone. No qualifications. They hope to test 3,000 total at these sites.
They will also open more sites in Owensboro and Bowling Green from Tuesday through Thursday to get another 1,000 tests.
Another testing site in Lexington is Walgreens, starting Friday at their 2296 Enterprise Dr. location they will test 7 days a week, from 9 to 5 pm. They will accept all for the tests.
The American Sign Language phrase we learned today was “Doctors and Nurses, Thank You.”
