Overnight road closure on North Limestone extended
LEXINGTON, KY. (Oct. 7, 2025) – The North Limestone overnight closure between Rosemary Avenue and New Circle Road has been extended to Oct. 17. That section of the road will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday – Thursday to facilitate sanitary sewer construction.
Drivers coming from New Circle can use North Broadway and Withers Avenue to detour around the closure. Drivers traveling on North Limestone can use Bluegrass Avenue and Bryan Avenue to reach New Circle Road. Drive slowly and watch for workers and pedestrians in construction areas.
Business driveway access will be maintained during construction. Roads will be covered with steel plates during the day so that traffic is not affected. For information about the Lextran Route 7 bus stop located in the construction area, riders should visit lextran.com.
The construction involves New Circle Road sanitary sewer trunks A and B. Approximately 8,000 feet of sanitary sewer line will be constructed along the New Circle Road corridor by the end of 2026. This project is part of the federal consent decree requirements for Lexington to improve its sanitary sewer system.
