Featured Business of the Week: 2nd Community Housing Charity Gala

Skip Eliot interviewed Rusty Underwood, President of Bluegrass Realtor Community Housing Foundation, Tina Burns- from REACH - Resources Education Assistance Community Housing, and Jeremiah Myers from Lexington Habitat for Humanity about the 2nd Community Housing Chairty Gala.

The 2nd annual Community Housing Charity Gala presented by Bluegrass Realtors will take place on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 6:30-11p.m. at the Hilton Downtown Ballroom. (369 W. Vine St., Lexington, KY 40507).

This fundraising gala was created to support local not-for-profit organizations serving Central Kentucky who exist to support citizens impacted from housing insecurity, as well as educating those who can help end the affordable housing crisis in our area. These issues affect thousands of Kentuckians per year and is currently on the rise. It will take our community pulling together to solve this issue. Please join us in this mission. You can support our efforts by joining us at the event or by making a donation.

Money raised from this event are used in our community for such services as: home rehabilitation for the elderly, installation of access ramps for the physically challenged, critical home repairs for existing home owners and education/programs on becoming financially self-sufficient in order become a home owner.

Keeping home owners in their homes through critical repairs, handicap accessibility and general relief is so important to us. Creating avenues through education and assistance for our community members to achieve homeownership and maintain it is what builds strong communities,” says President, Rusty Underwood, Bluegrass Realtors Board President.

This cocktail-style event will feature food stations, open bar and entertainment by former UK Coach Matthew Mitchell’s band from Nashville.
