I really am just a steel town girl on a Saturday night – I went from tween to young adult during the 80s in the steelmaking town of Middletown, Ohio (the town featured in the movie, “Hillbilly Elegy!”) That’s when my love affair with music and pop culture began, with radio and MTV both playing big roles. I decided at age 11 that I wanted to be a DJ so I could play my favorite music and entertain people. I’m thankful that I’ve been able to forge out a 30+ year career doing just that, starting at my hometown country station in 1992.
